Windows Visual Merchandising Assistant, Creative
Length of Service - 1 Year
I was sent the job description by a friend of a friend who works here & got a call to say I had an interview on Christmas Eve 2015 (I was flying to New York the following day so excitement levels were through the roof!) I’ve always loved the brand – whenever I went into Symons as a customer I never wanted to leave & I still feel the same now – especially in the new MHS store. So when I was offered the job I was genuinely over the moon. Head Office window roles are few & far between, but a Head Office window role for one of your favourite brands is even harder to come by so I feel super lucky to be here! Everyone has been so lovely since day one; without a doubt the best place I’ve ever worked!
The people & the product. Everyone is so lovely that it doesn’t take long to feel part of the brand & working with such gorgeous product makes every window scheme, from design to implementation, super exciting!
Working as part of the windows team means we get to work creatively with all product at some point throughout the year so it’s hard to pick a favourtite (I love everything!) But if I had to choose I’d probably pick home & dining – home focused windowas are my favourite windows to dress.
Senior Assistant Buyer, Merchandising

I started as a Senior BAA, then I became an Assistant Buyer and now I'm a Senior Assistant Buyer.
Working with exciting and high quality product makes my job so much more enjoyable – for a Buyer it’s vital that you believe in the product you’re trying to sell to the rest of the business. I also have an amazing and supportive team around me, we have a great time together and as a result work really efficiently as one team.
We have a beautiful pure cashmere collection at TWC, it’s hard to choose a favourite. From XM16, I love the All Over Cable Jumper! It’s a beautiful soft taupe colour and has an intricate cable design. Nobody else on the highstreet offers such beautifully designed pure cashmere products at the prices we do – I’m very proud of that.

I was recommended to The White Company by a friend who worked here at the time. I was in my final year at Uni and was desperately looking for a job. Thankfully I was successful and so I commuted each weekend from Leicester to London to work at our Brent Cross branch.
One weekend, Dipti Suchak, the then head of retail ops visited the store and I approached her to see if there were any suitable vacancies in head office (which was in Perivale at the time). She said she would check and let me know if anything came up. A few months later she called the store to speak to me about the Assistant Branch Merch vacancy. It sounded like an interesting opportunity to progress my career and so I applied. I was asked to prepare a SWOT analysis and come in for an interview. I got the job and made the move from store to head office!
Over the following years I was given the opportunity to grow and learn within the business, supported by my managers and the merch director to help me find my career path which I am pursuing today and look forward to continuing with The White Company.
The best thing about working for TWC is the people. Ever since my very first day I remember feeling part of a team. This is a feeling which has grown with me through my journey and one I am proud to be a part of. The TWC culture is much like a family, filled with dedicated professionals who strive to become experts in their fields.
It is so difficult to choose just one product. Amongst my favourite products are my TWC bedding ranges. From my first ever TWC set that I saved up to buy when I was in store, the Carlyle range, to the Savoy or the image of the Brompton linen in the brochure I liked so much that I painted my room to match before I invested in. It was also my favourite area to sell in store. Not forgetting the Monkey and Snowy Comforters which I bought for my nephew and niece when they were born and that they still cannot sleep without now.
